Perak have its own beautiful places such as Lumut, Teluk Batik & Pangkor Island, the best thing of this place is the location is near each other...So, let have a look...

 LUMUT.....

Lumut in Malay Language is mean moss, lichen, or seaweed. his town is being called Lumut because in the earlier days, the beach in this town is rich of moss, so the local people called it Lumut. Once a relatively unknown fishing town it has since acquired the proud distiction of being the home base of the Royal Malaysian Navy and the take-off point for the beautiful offshore islands in the bustle of development taking place around it, the town still retains its quite charm.
Lumut is well known for its beautiful shell and coral handcrafts. The best time visit this dreamy little haven is between the months of August and November when the Annual Sea Festival "Pesta Laut" is held. There are sea sports competitions, cultural shows and fun and food fairs for everybody both young and old to enjoy.

Pangkor Island......

Situated just off the west coast of Perak in Peninsular Malaysia is one of the most enchanting islands you'll ever come across. Pangkor has for centuries enthralled visitors with her charming beauty. In days of old, she was the refuge of seamen who sailed through the Straits of Malacca. Pangkor's many idyllic bays made it the perfect stopover. Pirates, adventurers, merchants and soldiers of fortune sought the peace and tranquility she had to offer.
In stark contrast to malaysia's fast-paced progress, Pangkor remains a haven for those seeking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Soak up the sun on her golden beaches.

TELUK BATIK

Teluk Batik is a pleasant beach about 6 km from Lumut. Here the white sands and swaying coconut trees make it an ideal site for relaxation and swimming. At low tide, some hard corals become visible. Chaletaccommodation is also available.

Malacca or more popularly known as the "Historical City of Malaysia" is the third smallest state in Malaysia after Perlis and Penang. Although relatively small in size, Malacca is a truly fascinating place, with a long History and a rich Culture.

It is filled with events of the past, brimming with artefacts, handicrafts, historical buildings, walkways, corridors, and gardens. Some in Malaysia call it the "Museum State" because of its rich and abundant History. Melaka was founded by Parameswara, a Srivijayan prince of Palembang who fled Sumatra following an attack by Majapahit in 1377. He found his way to Melaka in the year 1400.

Gomantong Caves in Sandakan, Sabah Borneo is one of the renown caves for birds nest harvesting and located in the lower Kinabatangan area or Gomantong Rainforest Reserve. Consisting of two cave complexes which are Black Cave (Simud Hitam) and White Cave  (Simud Putih), these caves have been harvested for the prized birds nest for many years

The caves also measure about 30 meters wide and about 100 meters high . If walked deeper inside, the shouting of the Birds Nest Harvesters were getting louder.

Enjoyable rainforest walking to the caves
Judging from the walk we had, it was rather interesting with many things pointed out along the way. But on the return back through this walkway, there were more interesting items spotted.

One of the strange snails the size of a golf ball
Another unique critter Ben pointed out to me was the strange snail the size of a gold ball eating away on one of the leaves. The rainforest here has quite a number of insects, reptiles, birds and animals
